Azadeh Hamzehei Sichani, M.A.
Azi received her Bachelor's degree at Isfahan University in Iran, where she also gained extensive experience working as a medical technologist in a pathology lab. She then received her Master's degree in Biology at City University of New York (CUNY) while concurrently working as a research assistant in the Department of Biological Sciences under Dr. Rafael Yuste at Columbia University. There, she performed anatomical neuronal reconstructions and contributed to projects focused on better understanding neural circuit functions. She first joined the Simonyan Lab at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, where she conducted neuroimage processing for functional MRI and PET neuroreceptor data. With the move to Mass Eye and Ear, she continues to be involved in data acquisition and analysis of the ongoing neuroimaging studies that aim to identify neural and genetic correlates of spasmodic dysphonia and develop new treatments for this disorder.
